Her work often explores women and their inner worlds, nature and botanical imagery, culture, memory and moments from ordinary life. Rather than limiting herself to a single medium or visual language, she enjoys experimentation and allows each subject and idea to guide her choice of materials, techniques and approach.

Her background in textile design has strongly influenced the way she sees and creates, particularly her sensitivity towards colour, pattern, rhythm, texture, surface and decorative detail. These elements often become an important part of her visual language.

For Chinmaya, art is both a form of observation and a way of telling stories. She finds significance in seemingly simple experiences—people, conversations, landscapes, animals, traditions, relationships and fleeting moments—and transforms them into images that feel intimate, colourful and emotionally accessible.

Art is also a form of peaceful meditation for her. The process of creating gives her a sense of stillness and allows her to observe, reflect and connect with herself and the world around her.

At the same time, she maintains a strong curiosity about the wider world of art. She enjoys discovering new mediums, techniques, perspectives and ways of seeing, believing that experimentation and curiosity keep her artistic practice alive and constantly evolving.

Alongside her personal artistic practice, Chinmaya works as a design educator. Her experience in education continually reinforces her belief in curiosity, experimentation and learning through making.

Through her work, she hopes to capture the beauty and significance of people, nature, relationships, places and everyday moments, transforming them into visual stories that feel personal, expressive and emotionally resonant.
