I. Sezhian

His philosophy challenges the idea that everything meaningful can be explained through words. He believes that the deepest human experiences often exist beyond language. In the same way that a person's name is only a label and not the essence of the individual, he sees the title of a painting as separate from the true identity of the artwork. The deeper meaning of art exists beneath what can be named or defined.

Sezhian does not consider himself the absolute origin of his artworks. Instead, he sees himself as a medium through which thoughts, visions, energies and emotional currents move. These experiences pass through him and settle onto the canvas according to their own rhythm. His role is to remain open, instinctive and unfiltered, allowing each artwork to develop its own presence.

His visual language is strongly connected to the soil and cultural memory of his land. Village life, forgotten architectural forms, natural textures and earthy environments form an important part of his creative vocabulary. Primal symbols also play a significant role in his work, particularly the bull, which he views as an embodiment of endurance, ancestry, strength and grounded spirit.

His lines are guided more by instinct than logic, while his colours seek presence rather than perfection. Through this approach, Sezhian aims to create works that feel raw, rhythmic, lived and foundational.

Rather than asking viewers to decode his works intellectually, he invites them to experience them emotionally. His art seeks a moment of recognition in which something elemental and deeply human rises within the viewer.

As both an artist and a teacher, Sezhian believes strongly in continuous transformation. He refuses to remain creatively stagnant and describes his journey as one of constant movement, learning, unlearning and evolution. For him, artistic practice is not an exhibition of mastery but an ongoing process of becoming.

Artist Statement
I create to meet myself. My art is not driven by trends, applause or the need to explain. Every stroke is a ritual, and every composition becomes a conversation with silence, memory, grief, instinct and breath.

I believe that the deepest human experiences exist beyond language. A title can identify a painting, but it can never fully define its essence. The true depth of an artwork lives beneath what can be named.

I see myself not as the origin of my art, but as a medium through which energies, thoughts, visions and emotional currents move. I remain open and instinctive, allowing them to find their own rhythm on the canvas.
