While the Stars Were Twinkling, My Sky Broke

A poetic reflection on artists as distant stars—quietly illuminating our darkest nights, deeply loved in their presence, yet often truly remembered only after they are gone.

While the Stars Were Twinkling, My Sky Broke

While the stars were twinkling,
my sky broke.

There was a torrential rain,
yet my earth still prevailed.

Stars fell onto the earth,
turning themselves into artists,
enormously loved for their light.

And to be precise,
they are not happy merely being artists,
but they light up everything with their presence,
with their indications,
and sometimes, their witty behaviour.

They are distant,
but always closer to your heart.

You may not need them
for your day-to-day life,
but they are the ones
who light up the entire night.

But honestly,
being a star is not easy.

Because one day,
it will be remembered—
though it may not have been acknowledged
during its presence.
